Not A Politician

via efaz

The new president never was a politician and apparently does not plan to become one. “I will continue to avoid slipping into political rhetoric,“ he says. “I mean what I say, and everybody should understand it.“
And the former head of the International Monetary Fund is already thinking about one of the messages he will be sharing with his fellow citizens while he is president. “We can heal the social state,“ says Köhler, pointing to a system in which he thinks individual responsibility plays little or no role. “More and more people believe that the collective community will take care of the problems of the elderly and infirm.“ The result of such thinking is a creeping form of irresponsibility, he says.

I kind of like him too. He gives me a little hope for a better future German government, though he of course will 'just' represent us as the head of the state.
